The exhibition will open on Saturday, October 12th, and will remain open everyday from 10am to 7pm, until the closing on Saturday, October 26th.
Hannah Weinberger is a Swiss artist born in 1988. She lives and works in Basel and holds a master’s degree in visual arts from the University of Fine Arts in Zurich.
She has presented solo exhibitions at the Kunstmuseum Solothurn; the Musée Gadagne for the 16th Lyon Biennale; the Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva; the Kunstverein Braunschweig; the Badischer Kunstverein, Karlsruhe; the Schinkel Pavillon, Berlin; Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof, Hamburg; Kunsthaus Bregenz; MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge, MA; FriArt, Fribourg; the Swiss Institute, New York; and the Kunsthalle Basel, among others.
Her work has also been presented internationally at: Martha Herford Museum, Germany; Kunsthaus Baselland; Kunst Raum Riehen; Vleeshal Middelburg; Musée Espace Arlaud, Lausanne; Okayama Art Summit; Manifesta 11; Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo; Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Zurich; the Lyon Biennale; the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam; the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen; Kunstverein München, Munich; and Kunsthaus Glarus.
Her work was awarded a Swiss Art Award in June 2019; she was also awarded the Georg and Josi Guggenheim Prize in 2016 and the first Swiss Emerging Artist Prize in 2018. From 2011 to 2013 she co-programmed the project space Elaine at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Basel. From 2013 to 2023 she sat on the board of the Kunsthalle Basel. In 2018 and 2019 she ran the Hidden Bar at Art Basel. She is currently a professor at the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel, in addition to being a co-founder of the Basel Social Club.
